our philosophy

nudge was built with one core belief: your data is yours alone.

we don't have servers. we don't have accounts. we don't track you. every piece of information nudge uses stays on your device, processed locally, never transmitted anywhere.

this isn't just a feature—it's our foundation.

what we collect

nudge accesses the following data, all processed entirely on your device:

• location: to understand when you're home, at work, or somewhere new. we use significant location changes only—not continuous GPS tracking.
• motion & activity: step counts and movement patterns to know when you've been still too long.
• weather: current conditions at your location to suggest outdoor activities when it's nice.
• notification responses: how you interact with nudges helps us learn your preferences.

none of this data ever leaves your iPhone or Apple Watch.

where your data lives

all data is stored locally using Apple's secure on-device storage:

• your preferences and settings
• nudge history and your responses
• learned patterns about your habits
• saved locations (home, work)

there is no cloud sync. no backups to our servers. if you delete the app, all data is permanently erased from your device.

under EU regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the 2025 amendments, you have complete data sovereignty.

on-device intelligence

nudge uses Apple's Foundation Models framework to generate personalized messages. this AI runs entirely on your device.

in compliance with the EU AI Act (2024/1689), we confirm:

• the AI system is classified as minimal risk
• no personal data is sent to external AI services
• the model cannot be updated remotely without your consent
• all AI processing respects your privacy settings

you can disable AI-generated messages in settings at any time.

data sharing

we share exactly nothing.

• no data is sold to advertisers
• no data is shared with partners
• no data is transmitted to analytics services
• no data leaves your device for any reason

this is absolute. there are no exceptions.

third-party services

nudge integrates only with Apple's built-in services:

• Apple Weather: for current conditions (no personal data shared)
• HealthKit: for motion data (if you grant permission)
• Apple Push Notification Service: for delivering nudges
• StoreKit: for processing your one-time purchase

we do not use any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, crash reporters, or advertising frameworks.

children's privacy

nudge is not designed for children under 16 years of age. we do not knowingly collect or process data from children.

in accordance with Article 8 of GDPR and the 2025 Digital Services Act provisions for minors, if you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used nudge, please contact us and we will assist with deletion.

policy changes

if we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you through the app before they take effect.

under EU law, you will always have the opportunity to review changes and decide whether to continue using nudge. your continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
