as an EU resident, you have strong data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
because nudge stores all data locally on your device, exercising most of these rights is as simple as adjusting settings or deleting the app.
Article 15 GDPR
you have the right to know what personal data we process about you.
with nudge: all your data is visible directly in the app. check the dashboard for your nudge history and responses. check settings for your preferences and saved locations. there's nothing hidden—what you see is everything.
Article 16 GDPR
you have the right to correct inaccurate personal data.
with nudge: edit your preferences and saved locations anytime in settings. if nudge learned something incorrectly about your habits, use "reset learning" to start fresh.
Article 17 GDPR
you have the right to have your personal data deleted ("right to be forgotten").
with nudge: delete the app to permanently erase all data. since nothing is stored on our servers, deletion is immediate and complete. there's no account to close, no data to request deletion of—it's simply gone.
Article 20 GDPR
you have the right to receive your data in a portable format and transfer it elsewhere.
with nudge: your data already lives on your device in Apple's standard storage format. if you switch devices using Apple's migration tools, your nudge data transfers with everything else.
Article 18 GDPR
you have the right to limit how your data is processed.
with nudge: disable any nudge type in settings to stop that kind of data processing. disable location or motion permissions in iOS settings to restrict data collection entirely.
Article 21 GDPR
you have the right to object to data processing based on legitimate interests.
with nudge: we process data based on your consent (permission grants) and contract performance (providing the service you purchased). you can withdraw consent anytime by revoking permissions or deleting the app.
Article 22 GDPR
you have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you.
with nudge: the AI generates message suggestions, not decisions about you. you always control whether to act on a nudge or ignore it. the learning system adapts to your preferences but makes no consequential decisions.
for most rights, you can exercise them directly:
for formal requests or questions:
email: nudgeapp@proton.me
response time: within 30 days
we will never charge a fee for legitimate requests. we may ask for identity verification to protect your data from unauthorized access.
if you believe we have violated your data protection rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
